Super Bowl 50 Committee Partners with MBC for Contracting Diversity
On January 26, 2015 The Silicon Valley Minority Business Consortium (MBC) said today that it has partnered with San Francisco Bay Area Super Bowl 50 Host Committee to partner to expand involvement of Silicon Valley diverse businesses that are Minority, Women, LGBT and disabled veteran-owned. MBC will assist in the development and launch of the Business Connect program with their contracting opportunities with Host Committee, as well as, the NFL and its prime contractors to expand and further assist with development of their outreach programs in Silicon Valley.
The Minority Business Consortium’s goal is to assist the Business Connects outreach offering to diverse businesses through distribution of program resources and education development to its participants. In doing this, MBC will assist in increasing the business community participation and ensuring that these diverse businesses who are Official Business Connect Partners are afforded an equitable opportunity to participate in high-value and visible procurement as it relates to San Francisco Bay Area Super Bowl 50 contracts.
Walter Wilson of the Minority Business Consortium- Silicon Valley, said “This partnership with the San Francisco Bay Area Super Bowl 50 Host committee and the Minority Business Consortium of Silicon Valley, shows a commitment by the Host committee to create true diversity and inclusion. The committee also has shown the importance of including the whole Bay Area as part of the Super Bowl, particularly the city of Santa Clara and Silicon Valley as important members of the Super Bowl 50 contracting and events venues.“
